Kegon replied, ” A broken mirror never reflects again; Fallen flowers never go back to the old branches.”
We all are asked questions in order to show our awareness. The question always asks others to think in the direction directed. If someone asks what the capital of Australia is, you move your attention towards Australia in your memory. The direction directs you to think about the matter related to Australia to return the answer. It’s not a question that is needed to know the answer but it’s the other way around. Questions always arise out of Answers because unless there is an answer the question will never arise in your mind. Hence answer breed question and not vice versa
What is enlightenment. You disappear in you. the conditioned world is no more in you. You never know yourself and also about your past life or past knowledge of memories. You are new, at the same time the old is not disappeared. It’s in you in the form of blank. When Buddha got enlightened he moved with the people and his experience with others both as a child and wise. Children never choose because they are yet to be conditioned. An enlightened person just Sees in seeing, Walks in walking and Eats in eating, They sleep in sleeping coz no dreams come from their minds and it’s more like an open sky.
A monk feared because he thought enlightenment is knowledge. The behaviour of knowledge is to interpret. The interpretation will change your behaviour according to the situation and may lead to losing your real enlightenment. The monk never understood he thought it more like a person experiencing silence in Himalaya. Once you move out of Himalaya; the silence will move out of you because the silence belongs to Himalaya not you. But he failed to see the enlightenment happening only inside of you. It can happen when you are sitting in the centre of the market and cannot be taken away. Once you are enlightened, you forget yourself there is no thinking mind. just awareness.
In simple, Enlightenment is like, you came out of your mother there is no way you can go back to your mother’s womb. It is just a one way like a broken mirror or a fallen flower will never go back to its original form.
