Once a beginner asked a Zen Master, “Master, what is the first principle?”
Without hesitation the Master replied, “If I were to tell you,it would become the second principle.”

The moment you define the meaning of love it dies immediately in the hand of the receiver. To love is to experience, just experience, but if you try to explain the experience of love then it is not love. Hence the experience of love is the first principle and uttering to any one falls under second hand info to him.

What is the first principle? is nothing but the truth. The moment you decide to define the truth, it becomes false because the truth requires experiencing not learning from someone. If you visit temples, there will be a sage who gives discourses and will be enlightening to you but the moment you move out.The message also moves out of you coz it comes to you as second hand information and you received it without any experience.

Your first principle is the experience of truth. Every truth in you is nothing but first principle and if you ask someone to tell you about the truth behind then immediately it becomes your second principle.
