Food

Your favorite food
is
your address to your Soul…

The Indian bride were told, to reach their husband ‘s heart, they have to reach through his stomach. Actually, we are moved to do hard work in order to have our favourable food for lifetime. Society created a concept called function. We are allowed to eat as much as we want in the buffet served by the host.  Because the host comes from one of us and they know what is our favourite food and prepare and display to connect with each other.

In India, we are having the best cuisines and here there is more diversification in languages and rituals and it also brings more different varieties of food. We Indian are united by food and we love to taste one others cuisines. We carry less ego and are more secular towards our society. Some years before, we even got afraid of European food served in our country thinking whether it may erase our Indian tradition. But, we later understood even though we eat Pizzas and Burgers but when it comes to festivals these items will never ever appear in any of the homes in India.

I met an old woman on the train. She was telling how she follows her husband and children eating. There is a tradition in India, the head of the family will not allow the guest to clear their plate and is also applicable to her family. Why?
Because she has to read the pattern of eaten plates to know, which items are eaten more and which are left over. By seeing them she will come to know their favourite dishes of everyone and the same will be served when then the guest returns. Mom learns what the sons’ favourite and they do it specially to pamper their children’s and her husband.

An anecdote

Once, an accused was brought into the court for punishment. Even though there is enough doubt, the king wanted to give him a chance but the minister insisted his whole family should be punished. Hence the king goes through the details of his profession and understood he was a very good cook. So he asked his friend who was a guest at that time, he is the neighboring king who came for a visit.
The neighboring King said he wanted to go for the lunch next week to the cook house and after the feast, they could decide when to carry out his punishment and he was let out for a week.

The Cook wants to save him and his family and he decided to serve a nice feast to the king’s friend but he doesn’t know what to serve to impress and get his recommendation to escape from the punishment. The next morning, there was a talk in the town, the cook escaped leaving his family and his belongings. The king never panicked because the family was here and if we failed to return on the feast day then his family would be immediately executed.

But the cook appeared one day before the feast and he brought enough material for the feast. The day came, when the Neighboring King entered his house for lunch. By seeing the display of the food he literally cried because those foods are his favourites and after finishing he asked the king to pardon the cook and his family. The king obliged and decided to set him free.

When everyone asked what happened.
Cook said, ” he was very afraid of the neighboring king’s taste and his favourite food,  he decided to reach his country and check his dead mother’s relatives to know his favourite foods and he did as they advised. When the neighboring king was at the dining table he just saw his mother in the food. This is the story he ended.”

Food can save us from hunger and also from punishment………..Right
